- Server (system requirements)
You will need a Windows Operating System. The server is supported in both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of these Windows operating systems:
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP Professional
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Vista (Business and Ultimate)
- Windows Server 2008
You will also need a Microsoft SQL Server.
- MSDE 2000 (SP3a)
- SQL Server 2000 (SP3a)
- SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server Express 2005 (SP2)
- SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server Express 2008
You also need a version of Microsoft IIS.
- IIS 5.0 or higher with .NET Framework 2.0
Your server computer should have at least:
- 2.4 GHz CPU or better
- 2 GB RAM
- 20 MB available hard disk space

Note that this is a preview release, and should not be used in a production environment. Please back up your databases
prior to installing Fortress 2.0 beta – once converted, your databases cannot be used with Fortress 1.x

Server
(Approx 24 MB) |
This installer includes the Fortress server, the client, and the admin tool. Run this installer only on the server machine. |
Client
(Approx 11 MB) |
This installer includes the Fortress client. Run this installer on every client/desktop machine. |
VSS Import Tool
(Approx 3 MB) |
This installer includes Fortress's VSS Import tool. Please read this information before using it. |
Client API
(Approx 1 MB) |
For Windows. This installer includes libraries (.NET assemblies) for building custom Fortress clients as well as source code for the Fortress command-line client. Ask questions on our support forum if you need help. |
Java Command Line Client (CLC)
