The server is supported in both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of these Windows operating systems: Windows 2000 Windows XP Professional Windows Server 2003 Windows Vista (Business and Ultimate) Windows Server 2008 You will also need a Microsoft SQL Server. MSDE 2000 (SP3a) SQL Server 2000 (SP3a) SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server Express 2005 (SP2) SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server Express 2008 You also need a version of Microsoft IIS. SourceGear welcomes your input and feedback on this beta release. Note that this is a *preview release*, and should not be used in a production environment. Please back up your databases prior to installing Vault 5.0 beta – once converted, your databases cannot be used with previous Vault versions. See the release notes for details on what's in beta 1. Previous Versions of Vault

Vault requires the .NET Framework and Microsoft SQL Server. For more information on system requirements and prerequisites, click here.

For each release of Vault, there are multiple files, each of which is explained below:

Server (Approx 24 MB)	This installer includes the Vault server, the client, and the admin tool. Run this installer only on the server machine.
Client (Approx 11 MB)	This installer includes the Vault client. Run this installer on every client/desktop machine.
VSS Import Tool (Approx 3 MB)	This installer includes Vault's VSS Import tool. Please read this information before using it.
Client API (Approx 1 MB)	For Windows. This installer includes libraries (.NET assemblies) for building custom Vault clients as well as source code for the Vault command-line client. Ask questions on our support forum if you need help.
Java Command Line Client (CLC) (Approx 18 MB)	Cross-platform command-line access to Vault repositories. Also includes the Java-callable version of our Client API libraries.
NAnt Tasks (Approx 1.5 MB)	Modules for using Vault with NAnt.
Ant Tasks (Approx 1.5 MB)	Modules for using Vault with Ant.
